A sustained and significant increase in our fieldwork programme means we now have an immediate requirement for site staff with a minimum 6-months experience up to Project Officer level to work on a variety of projects across Kent and East Anglia. Subsidised or fully-paid accommodation, subsistence allowance and overtime is available, depending on location.
Canterbury Archaeological Trust employs a large full-time team of archaeologists and specialist staff, mostly based out of our Canterbury head office. It is one of the UK’s longest established commercial contracting organisations having been founded in 1975. As a registered charity, it has an enviable record for community archaeology, academic and grant-funded research. The Trust operates throughout Kent as well as in London, Sussex and East Anglia. Staff also work in Libya, Iraq, East Africa, the Caribbean and in countries across NW Europe.
Applicants must have a relevant and qualifying degree in archaeology, hold a current CSCS card and preferably have a clean driving licence and be a member of the CIfA.
Successful candidates will be offered fixed-term project-based contracts. Benefits include 33 days’ annual leave – pro rata and including bank holidays, a contributable pension scheme and generous paid sick-leave. All PPE is supplied.
Please send cv and covering letter, including the earliest date you are available to start work, to email@example.com
Applicants must be a British citizen or EU national, or hold a current work permit. Proof of eligibility will be required prior to any offer of employment, and if you hold a Work Permit you should send a copy with your application or it will not be considered.
