NAA is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Project Officer to join our Built Heritage and Planning Consultancy teams in the preparation of heritage statements, desk-based assessments, and the delivery of field survey projects across the North East, Yorkshire and Cumbria.
Role and Responsibilities:
The post-holder will prepare and contribute to heritage and environmental statements, and desk-based assessments, including primary research and liaising with clients; undertake historic building surveys at Historic England Level 2 and 3; prepare consultancy reports of a suitable standard and quality; participate in community projects and public engagement events, providing training and supervision; undertake monitoring and watching briefs on building-related projects; work with the Project Manager (Heritage Conservation) in maintaining close working relationships with existing clients and identifying potential new business opportunities.
Candidates must have a degree in archaeology/historic environment or related disciplines and a detailed understanding of British archaeology. Candidates must have a full driving licence and access to transport. A current CSCS card is desirable and First Aid at Work certification is advantageous.
The post is a permanent appointment and will be based at the NAA office in Barnard Castle. Starting salary will be commensurate with the expertise and experience of the successful candidate.
