Due to continued growth across our business and a range of large projects ahead, CFA is looking to appoint Permanent Archaeological Supervisors and Archaeological Assistants starting as soon as the successful candidates are available. We are looking for candidates to fill posts at our offices in Milton Keynes, Leeds and Musselburgh, and will consider all appropriate candidates for these permanent positions.

Permanent Archaeological Supervisors (starting at £21300 - 22337 depending on experience)
 
We are looking to appoint Archaeological Supervisors who have experience in desk-based studies, archaeological fieldwork (including site evaluations, field surveys and watching briefs) and contributing to report production. You may be required regularly to work away from your office location. CFA provides transport to site and, if working away, overnight accommodation and subsistence will also be provided. A good knowledge of British archaeology is desirable, and you will be able to demonstrate a range of skills relevant to working in commercial field archaeology. You should be motivated and an effective team-worker, maintaining good professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
 
Success criteria include:
  • Relevant degree level education or significant practical experience in field archaeology
  • Flexible approach to deployment and willingness to travel and work away
  • Membership of the CIfA preferred and a current CSCS Card desirable
  • Experience of supervising field teams and machine excavation
  • A good positive attitude and effective team-worker / communicator
  • Willingness to learn a range of office-based and fieldwork skills, with ambition to progress into more senior roles
  • Motivated with good organisational skills
  • Full driving licence essential
  • Microsoft Office skills
 Permanent Archaeological Assistants (starting at £18465 – £19364 depending on experience)
 
We are looking to appoint permanent Archaeological Assistants who can work effectively and reliably as part of a team, both in the office and in the field. You must have good communication skills, be available to work away on field projects and be able to carry out manual work in outdoor environments in all weather. We look to train all staff with the aim to provide career development.
 
Success criteria include:
  • Relevant degree level education or practical experience in field archaeology
  • Flexible approach to deployment and willingness to travel and work away
  • Membership of the CIfA preferred and a current CSCS Card desirable
  • A good positive attitude and effective team-worker / communicator
  • Willingness to learn a range of office-based and fieldwork skills, with ambition to progress into more senior roles
  • Motivated with good organisational skills
  • Full driving licence preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills
