Senior Project Manager/ Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager - Northampton

  • Senior Project Manager:     £34,000 - £40,000
  • Project Manager:        £30,000 - £33,500
  • Assistant Project Manager:     £26,800 - £29,200
  •  (starting salary dependent upon role appointed to and experience)


Based in Northampton

We are looking for managers to join our expanding team during a period of continued and sustained business growth based in Northampton. We have a diverse and interesting portfolio of exciting projects throughout the UK and an expanding client base.

Whilst the advertised posts are based in Northampton, MOLA also maintains offices in London and Basingstoke, and expressions of interest are invited from suitable candidates interested in pursuing a career with MOLA in either of these locations.

Senior Project Manager, Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager

The roles

The successful candidates will be expected to tender for and procure new business at a level appropriate to the appointment.  They will manage a range of archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation projects simultaneously whilst ensuring delivery within set timescales and budgets.  Maintaining quality standards and safe working practices are essential.  The post offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the business and MOLA’s ongoing programme of innovation and expansion as part of a dynamic and forward-looking organisation.


Professional experience

Ideally candidates would have demonstrable experience of successfully tendering for and managing projects from initiation to completion.  However, the role could also provide an ideal opportunity for someone looking move into project management.  Training and mentoring would be provided by the senior management team for the right candidate with the ambition to move their career forward as part of MOLA’s commitment to career development.  

Membership of CIfA at Associate or Member grade or eligibility and willingness to apply is required.  A full clean driving licence is essential as regular travel will be required.


Personal qualities

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage their own workload and prioritise accordingly.  A suitable level of experience in archaeological team management and project delivery is expected according to role.  The successful candidate will be able to motivate, empower and inspire project teams and be able to build productive and professional relationships with all our partners across the sector including clients, consultants, other contractors and curators.  Good problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams are essential.
