Founded in 1967, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust Ltd is a registered charity whose twin aims are education and heritage conservation. The Trust is one of the largest independent museums in the world and operates 10 award winning Museums within the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage site.

Applications are invited for the following position:

  • Archaeology and Monuments Officer
  • £26,000 per annum
  • To lead on all archaeological matters for the Trust including input into the Museum’s learning and curatorial work in liaison with other members of MMT.
  • To provide specialist advice on the conservation and interpretation of the listed buildings and monuments in the Museum’s care.
  • To manage external contract work as directed by the Executive.

This role would suit someone who has knowledge, experience and understanding of industrial archaeology, an understanding of heritage and archaeology-related planning law & has the ability to work successfully with a wide range of people.
