Supervisors, Site Assistants & Trainee Site Assistants
Archaeology Wales Ltd needs Supervisors, Site Assistants & Trainee Site Assistants to work on fieldwork projects in Wales, the midlands and Suffolk. Contracts are likely to run until the end of November 2017, with a strong likelihood of an extension after that.
If you are applying for the position of Supervisor or Site Assistant, previous experience of commercial archaeological fieldwork is essential and you must have a valid CSCS card.
Trainee Site Assistants will receive formal and site-based training (to PCIfA level) in accordance with the requirements of AW’s CIfA approved training programme and the BAJR Skills Passport. Training typically takes about six weeks, after which employees who have successfully learnt all the skills required will be promoted to the level of Site Assistant.
The basic starting salary for Supervisors is £430.00 per week (£22,360.00 p/y), for Site Assistants is £375.00 per week (£19,500.00 p/y) and for Trainee Site Assistants is £320.00 per week (£16,640.00 p/y). AW is an equal opportunities employer and all staff are entitled to the same benefits package regardless of whether their contracts are fixed-term or permanent. Seven day accommodation and a daily allowance will be provided for those not able to commute.
