Database Specialist

£24,400 - £26,500 (salary dependent on experience)
Permanent
Full time 37.5 hours per week (Up to 40 hours may sometimes be required)
Based in London, but with regular travel to other MOLA sites

We wish to recruit a self-motivated and enthusiastic member of our Technology Solutions division, to work with our multi-disciplinary team to build upon the foundation of our sector-leading, Oracle database for archaeological data, its links to GIS systems, its reporting capability and its ability to support community engagement.

The role would suit either an archaeology graduate with further qualifications in IT/data management or a data management graduate with a keen interest in archaeology or the historic environment.  This is a rare opportunity to join our innovative team at a time of expansion.

The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure; managing their own workload to deliver high quality results to clear project deadlines in association with both local and remote teams.  They must be well organised and be able to handle multiple projects effectively.  Full training in specific features of the MOLA database systems will be given, but a degree of self-study will be required to excel in the role.

You will bring a logical mind with a clear understanding of data modelling and structure and an eye for opportunities to improve and evolve our systems and the user experience of them.
