We are seeking to appoint a Historic Environment Record (HER)Officer, responsible for maintaining, updating and developing the Derbyshire Historic Environment Record, based in the Conservation, Heritage and Design Service at Derbyshire County Council.
The Derbyshire HER is externally hosted and accessed via a web link using the HBSMR relational database application linked to MapInfo GIS. It provides an essential information base for the management and conservation of Derbyshire’s historic environment.
As well as maintaining and developing the HER, the post-holder is responsible for providing information and advice to a wide range of internal and external customers on all aspects of the historic environment.
You will have significant experience of HER work, and will have the technical and interpersonal skills and experience needed to maintain and develop the database through liaison with our external software provider, and to successfully deliver the customer-facing aspects of the role.
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual with the experience and skill-set to help drive forward the development of the HER, particularly with regard to public accessibility and engagement.
