Waterman Group Plc is a leading international multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy, providing sustainable solutions to meet the planning, engineering design and project delivery needs of the property, infrastructure, energy, and environmental markets. Waterman Infrastructure & Environment are currently recruiting for a Principal or Associate Director to head our Historic Environment team based in Bristol. 
 
This is an exciting opportunity for the chosen candidate to work within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of high profile UK projects that include strategic residential and mixed-use development sites through to smaller bespoke projects.  Our work involves early engagement at the due diligence or feasibility stage, with a focus on pre-planning assessments and post planning management of archaeological fieldwork. With a requirement to meet the needs of our local Clients and to support colleagues in other regional offices, a key aspect to the role will include regular co-operation and inter-office working in line with Waterman’s ‘One Team’ culture.
 
The successful candidate will be degree qualified in a heritage related subject. Having at least eight* years’ commercial consultancy experience, as well as a good knowledge of British heritage, and within the context of the development planning have experience of completing desk based archaeological assessments, writing and reviewing ES Chapters, liaison with Statutory Regulators and Clients, production of Written Schemes of Investigation and management of archaeological fieldwork investigations. They will also be a Member of the CIfA.
 
As a team leader the candidate must be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team, to deadlines and within budgets.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required.  We are looking for people who are excellent team players and have a proactive, commercial and positive attitude.
 
A full UK driving licence is required and you must be willing to travel throughout the UK.
