Wardell Armstrong is recruiting additional archaeology staff to assist on various fieldwork projects, based in the North West of England. The projects will comprise archaeological evaluations, excavations, geophysical surveys and other fieldwork projects. Fieldwork staff should preferably have at least six months’ previous commercial fieldwork experience, and a first degree in archaeology (or equivalent). Senior staff will be expected to have greater fieldwork experience and the ability to work unsupervised. The current positions are available on an initial 6-month contract based in our Greater Manchester office. The successful candidates will be required to work at various locations across the North West, but some working further afield in the UK may also be required.
Accommodation and a generous subsistence allowance will be provided for projects when working away from home and the company offices. Applicants will need to have a full UK driving licence and be able to provide their own transport to the company offices or to site. Transport will be provided for most site work, leaving from the company offices.
Applicants must either be a British citizen or EU national, or hold a current work permit. Proof of eligibility will be required prior to any offer of employment.
