If you are contemplating a career change this summer we are looking for another project manager to join Headland’s South & East office in Bedfordshire. This is a great opportunity to join a progressive and growing company that strives to balance exciting archaeological projects with a business-like approach, alongside developing the careers of our staff.
The position will involve preparation of tenders and the running of both field and office-based projects. You will be expected to use your archaeological experience to advise clients and to support colleagues as projects progress.
- A clean driving licence
- A desire to learn, develop and lead, underpinned by a good knowledge of British Archaeology and UK planning legislation;
- A proven track record in commercial archaeology;
- The ability to manage and develop field and specialist teams and taking projects through to publication;
- An appetite for working closely with clients
ADVANTAGEOUS BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
The team you will join – The team at Silsoe comprises 18 core staff with many presently deployed on the massive A14 Improvement Scheme in Cambridgeshire (along with 200+ fixed term staff). We are also working on the HS2 project and you will be involved in this alongside a range of other mitigation and evaluation works. You will have opportunities to visit and interact with staff in the other offices in Leeds, Hereford and Edinburgh, all of whom share the same passion for archaeology. The company is very focussed on training so not only can you expect to receive training but our managers are encouraged to get involved with the development of junior staff. This year we have appointed of a full-time training officer to facilitate this process and are running a newly developed training package for all staff.
