Archaeological Solutions is an independent commercial organisation based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.  We undertake a substantial range of field projects throughout East Anglia. 


The following posts are open to people with the relevant experience but AS are also willing to accept applications from those with an interest in these areas and a relevant archaeological qualification.  We will deliver the appropriate training and mentoring through our network of highly competent in-house specialists to develop and nurture the individuals in post.  AS have a strong sense of teamwork and through sharing knowledge and promoting best practices at work, our team is highly effective and able to meet its goals and deliver quality work.  In this instance we would also like to hear from individuals who have the desire and enthusiasm to succeed and develop in post whilst contributing to our professional growth.

£25,000 to £30,000, dependant on experience
The post holder will prepare post excavation reports (assessments, research archive reports and publication reports).  The reports arise from diverse and multi-period excavations, predominantly across East Anglia.  The role will entail the development of site narratives, research strategies and interpretive discussion, with the provision of a mentor and relevant opportunities for library and archive research.  You will be supported by a range of in-house artefact and ecofact specialists with whom you will form part of a vibrant post-excavation team of exceptional calibre.
The position can be based at either Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk or Shefford, Bedfordshire
Key skills for the post are

  • Excellent academic qualifications in archaeology 
  • Commercial field archaeology experience. 
  • Demonstrable experience of preparing a range of archaeological reports.
Desirable skills would be:
  • CIfA membership
  • Current driving licence

£20,000 to £25,000, dependant on experience
The post-holder will prepare digital graphics for a wide range of reports including  assessments, evaluation, excavation and publication reports
The position will be based at Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Key skills for the post are
  • Conversant in CorelDraw, GIS and processing of GPS survey data
  • Conversant in CAD
  • Academic qualifications in archaeology 
  • Commercial field archaeology experience. 
  • Demonstrable relevant graphics experience
Desirable skills would be:
  • CIfA membership
  • Current driving licence
Each post
