Location: Cirencester and Cambridge
Position: Senior/Principal/Associate Archaeology and/or Built Heritage Consultants
Details: Pegasus Group are seeking to appoint experienced and highly motivated Archaeology and Built Heritage Consultants, ranging from Senior to Associate, to provide archaeology/built heritage advice and expertise to a wide range of clients across the UK.
The role requires the highest standards of client care. Senior Consultants are expected to have demonstrable experience in direct client care, and at Principal level such experience is essential, as is their experience with liaising with statutory consultees. Associate Consultants are expected to have the ability to not only bring in new clients but to also build upon the Group’s reputation and encourage returning clients and repeat business.
Day to day duties of the role will involve preparation or management of desk-based assessments, desk-based surveys, and cultural heritage inputs to all stages of EIA to support planning application. The successful candidate will be involved in the engagement and negotiation with stakeholders, preparation of proposals, line management and QA.
The successful candidate, whether Senior, Principal or Associate, will be responsible for managing a number of complex projects for a range of clients. The position requires someone capable of taking a lead role on planning applications and site promotions, and having involvement in appeals. It is therefore expected that the successful candidate will be confident in their demeanour and their own abilities. The candidate will be required to support and, where appropriate, manage both the project team within the office as well as the consultant team.
Candidates should have thorough knowledge of the archaeology, historic buildings or historic landscapes of the UK, a first degree (in relevant subject), and significant professional knowledge of archaeology/heritage and the UK planning system. Previous private consultancy experience and being IHBC or CIfA qualified is desirable.
