Site Assistants & Trainee Site Assistants
Archaeology Wales Ltd require Site Assistants & Trainee Site Assistants to work on fieldwork projects in Wales and England. Contracts are likely to run until at least October 2018, with a strong likelihood of extensions after that.
If you are applying for the position of Site Assistant, previous experience of commercial archaeological fieldwork is essential and you must have a valid CSCS card.
Trainee Site Assistants will receive formal and site-based training (to PCIfA level) in accordance with AW’s CIfA approved training programme and the BAJR Skills Passport. Training typically takes about four to six weeks, after which employees who have successfully learnt all the skills required will be promoted to the level of Site Assistant.
The basic starting salary for Site Assistants is £375.00 per week (£19,500.00 p/a) and for Trainee Site Assistants is £320.00 per week (£16,640.00 p/a). Accommodation and a daily subsistance allowance is provided for those not able to commute.
