Wardell Armstrong is recruiting additional staff for our new Bolton office based in Greater Manchester.
We are seeking an experienced geophysics supervisor, or geophysicist with appropriate experience who looking to advance their career. Projects will mainly comprise geophysical surveys, but project work may also include assisting with other fieldwork projects, including topographic surveys, archaeological evaluations and excavations as necessary. Candidates should preferably have at least six months’ previous experience of undertaking geophysical surveys. Previous experience of using geophysics software, AutoCAD or GIS software would be advantageous for this post, although some training will be provided. Previous experience of archaeological fieldwork would also be advantageous, and a first degree in archaeology (or equivalent), but we will also consider less-experienced candidates.
This is a permanent full-time position, subject to our standard 6 months probationary period. The successful candidates will be required to work at various locations across the North West, but some working further afield in the UK will also be required. Accommodation and a generous subsistence allowance will be provided for projects when working away from home and the company offices. Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and be able to provide their own transport to the company offices. Transport will be provided for site work, leaving from the company offices.
