Heritage Policy Assistant
Full time 37 hours per week, fixed term contract until 31st March 2020
£24,867 - £26,779 salary per annum
Daventry District Council is looking for a Heritage Assistant to help in our review of existing conservation areas and to make new designations where appropriate.
Located in the East Midlands, the District is under significant development pressures, along with a recently adopted Core Strategy and emerging part 2 local plans, the Conservation Area designations will help to manage those development pressures.
The District is home to several historic houses, a Saxon church, Naseby Battle Site and part of the Grand Union Canal. There are 25 existing conservation designations and 1514 listed buildings in the district.
This is a new role within a team of policy officers working on local plans, housing, corporate and other policies.
Working with the Heritage Policy Officer, you will undertake all the necessary steps to secure designations including the preparation of appraisals in accordance with good practice, working with local communities.
Membership of the IHBC is not required.
This is a full time, temporary post until 31st March 2020.
