Historic Buildings Officer
Pay:  £26,800 - £28,750 (depending upon experience)
Location:  Based in Northampton (and at project sites as required)
Duration:  Permanent contract

The Role
MOLA are looking for a suitably qualified Historic Buildings officer to work from our Northampton Office.

This will be an opportunity to work on a wide variety of project types and tasks, including on- and off-site standing building recording work. The role is varied and will include activities such as creating drawn and photographic records of buildings, writing built heritage reports and undertaking documentary research.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will be driven and highly organised with a flexible approach to work. An interest in and knowledge of the built environment is essential, as is the ability to create clear drawn and photographic records with a meticulous work approach. Experience in producing written reports is preferable and we are particularly interested in applications from those with experience in CAD, photogrammetry and high-frequency laser scanning.

As the role requires working on site, applicants should ideally have experience working in an urban or construction environment, and will need to be comfortable working on demolition sites or in empty or derelict buildings, potentially also working at height, on scaffolding or in confined spaces.

UK commercial historic buildings archaeology experience is preferable; relevant European commercial experience will also be considered. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK without restrictions, and proof of eligibility will be required prior to commencement.

Candidates should have the ability to manage their own workloads and prioritise accordingly.  They should demonstrate an ability to work well within large teams and across departments and have a flexible approach to deployment. CSCS card holders are preferred, though we can arrange and pay for the test if necessary. Please note that the CSCS test stations are exclusively located in the UK.

Employee Benefits:
We offer a range of benefits to our employees including the following:
• 22 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pro-rata, rising based on service length
• Company pension scheme
• Life Assurance and Sickness Income Protection Policies
• Free health care cash plan (including dependent children)
• Employee Assistance Programme
• Payment of relevant professional memberships e.g. CIFA
