About the role & About us
Cornwall Archaeological Unit is part of Cornwall Council's Environment Service and undertakes between 100 and 120 archaeological projects annually in Cornwall and beyond. We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified person to assist Senior Archaeologists in the completion of historic environment projects. The Environment Service brings together the range of functions and activities of Cornwall Council which collectively support and implement Cornwall’s Environment Growth Strategy.
In the interests of fairness and consistency external appointments will be made on the minimum of the relevant open salary range. (£18,755 - £23,111 ) Progression through the scale can be achieved through our performance management and development process.
The normal duties of the role may involve travel on a regular or occasional basis. It is a condition of employment that the role holder can exercise satisfactory travel mobility in order to fulfil the obligations of the role. For those journeys where an alternative form of transport is unavailable or impracticable the role holder will be required to provide a suitable vehicle.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies 1989.

You will have an HND, foundation degree or degree in archaeology or a related subject or equivalent experience and experience of project support and delivery.
