Initial three-month contracts
Assistant Archaeologists (Grade 4 – spine points 11-14)


Archaeology South-East (the 'Field Unit' of the Institute of Archaeology, UCL) require additional short term contract staff for projects running from our offices in Witham, Essex and Portslade, East Sussex with opportunities for immediate starts continuing through to May 2019. Initial length of contract will be approximately three months with good prospects of contract extensions as work progresses according to our ongoing project needs.
Archaeology South-East offers the following employee benefits:
  • 27 days annual leave (plus 8 days Bank Holidays and 6 University closure days)
  • Paid travel time where applicable
  • B&B or self-catering accommodation for any staff on jobs requiring stay-away. Also, subsistence payments of £12 per night when staying in self-catering and up to £15 per night when staying in B&B
  • University pension scheme available
Preference will be given to those who hold a CSCS card (although we can arrange this if required) and a driving license.
