Cotswold Archaeology is one of the leading providers of professional archaeological and heritage services in the UK. We provide a complete archaeological and heritage service including fieldwork, post-excavation, marine archaeology and built heritage consultancy.
Our Heritage Consultancy department works with a diverse range of clients throughout the UK. We have extensive experience in a broad portfolio of projects which span the logistics, residential, retail and utilities sectors, working on some of the most interesting and challenging development projects in the country. On-going research projects for the national heritage agencies also allows our team to work at the cutting edge of new thinking in archaeology and heritage; while our conservation planning and historic building work allows us to directly contribute to the realisation of improved access to, and presentation of, the historic environment. Our work allows us to support projects on some of the most iconic, historic buildings and places in the UK. We work with our clients at all stages of process the planning and consenting processes and we are often engaged to act as Expert Witness during appeals.
We are looking for someone who has a sound understanding of the built heritage of the South West of England. Further details on the role can be found in the job specifications; however, in summary the required skills comprise specialist knowledge of the interpretation of historic buildings and fabric, good research skills and to be highly competent in articulating complex themes orally and in written form.
We are looking to appoint to either our Cirencester or Exeter office.
