We have an exciting opportunity for a Heritage Consultant to join our team. Ideally, we would like the individual to be based out of our Solihull office. Working with a creative, innovative, pragmatic and self-motivated team. This opportunity offers the chance to work across a wide range of projects such as HS2. As well as involvement in number of frameworks such as the environmental agency framework for Midlands.
The role will report directly to the Midlands Historic Environment Skills Leader and ultimately the Associate Director responsible for the Environment and Sustainability Team;
You will deliver archaeological and cultural heritage advice, assessment and mitigation design and management across a broad range of sectors, including some of the biggest infrastructure schemes and most complex projects in the country. These sectors include road, rail, municipal infrastructure, housing and energy.
You will be working with a creative, innovative, pragmatic, multi-cultural and self-motivated Historic Environment team, based in the Arup Campus in the West Midlands. The team forms part of the successful multidisciplinary Environmental & Sustainability Team that currently comprises over 30 enthusiastic professional staff working on a wide variety of exacting, high-profile and challenging projects. Our projects are located throughout the UK, and the role will require occasional travel to other Arup offices and for project related activities.
Skills/Experience required for the role
Confident user of GIS (ArcGIS preferred) and dataset manipulation;
Experience of working on large scale multi-disciplinary projects;
Experience of contributing to/designing archaeological mitigation;
Experience of undertaking consultation with Consultees such as, Local Planning Authority Archaeologists and Conservation Officers;
Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Archaeology or related subject or the equivalent of;
Membership (ACIfA minimum) of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists
