Hours: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Location: Based in Northampton
We are looking for a Project Officer to join our expanding post-excavation and reporting team based in Northampton during a period of continued and sustained business growth. We have a diverse and interesting portfolio of exciting projects throughout the UK and an expanding client base.
MOLA is an educational charity and leading heritage practitioner with Independent Research Organisation status. Our work and expertise are internationally recognised. You will be working as a key member of our post-excavation and reporting team in Northampton. Your role will be to prepare client reports and publications from our backlog archaeological fieldwork projects but also to assist colleagues in the Developer Services Team with producing and editing WSIs, desk-based assessments, post-excavation assessments and updated project designs, full client reports and publications for ongoing projects. You will also support your colleagues by using your skills to mentor less experienced members of staff.
Candidates should ideally be able to demonstrate a track record in successfully producing archaeological client reports or a similar level of related research papers and publications. Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams and an understanding of archaeological fieldwork processes and methodologies would also be highly advantageous but we would be happy to hear from candidates with different but related skills.
You will have a commitment to seeing the results of archaeological work and research disseminated through reports, publication and other media to the highest possible standard and to the widest possible audience. Excellent communication and problem solving skills are essential as is the ability to work efficiently to tight timescales.
