We are seeking a motivated and resourceful person to join our graphics team at our head office in Kilcoole, the position is full time. The role could be fulfilled from our Belfast Office, The graphics technician will assist with producing archaeological figures using ArcGIS and AutoCAD. You will have excellent IT skills and pay great attention to detail. This role provides an opportunity to develop a range of skills within the Graphics Department using the latest survey, GIS, CAD and photogrammetry technology.

Main duties
  • Produce archaeological maps, drawings and geodatabases using ArcGIS
  • Produce archaeological maps, drawings and digitise site archives using AutoCAD
  • Illustration of our reports, method statements, licence applications and publication materials
  • Processing site surveys using Trimble Business Centre (In-house training provided if necessary)
  • The successful applicant will be working under the guidance of our senior staff and liaising closely with site, EIS and post-excavation project managers 
Requirements:
  • A strong understanding of the basic concepts of GIS and survey and at least 6 months working knowledge of ArcGIS
  • The ability to keep to agreed targets and time scales is essential
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
Desirable but not essential
  • AutoCAD experience
  • A Bachelor (Irish level 8 or equivalent) or higher
  • Previous map/figure/graphic production experience
  • A good working knowledge of Irish archaeology is also preferable but not essential
  • A full driving licence would be an advantage, but not essential
