Our Heritage Team help to deliver exciting and transformative projects across the UK, ranging from tall buildings to heritage led regeneration projects. We are looking to make the key appointment of a Senior/Principal Heritage Consultant to deliver high quality, expert advice to our existing clients and to continue the expansion of our successful Heritage Consultancy Team.
The right individual will have at least 5 years of professional experience working in the historic environment, with at least 2 of these in consultancy; have confidence in providing expert advice to a wide range of clients across all business sectors; have business and commercial awareness; and be capable of contributing to the successful and sustained growth of the Team. Ideally, you will be competent and comfortable in dealing with all heritage assets and considerations: both built and archaeological.
You will be required to undertake a wide range of projects and be responsible for stakeholder engagement and liaison; the production of heritage appraisals; heritage statements and impact assessments; statements of significance; contribute to EIAs; and, if required, Proofs of Evidence and Written Representations.
You will also be required to seek business opportunities either through the formal tender process or through developing business opportunities within your professional network. You will be expected to contribute to the overall development of the Team, through mentoring staff and maintaining quality.
We are looking for the following:
Essential:             Degree in relevant discipline
Desirable:            Post-Graduate qualification in Heritage or Conservation related discipline
                               Membership of Professional Institute (CiFA, IHBC)
Essential:             Comprehensive understanding of the historic environment in the planning process
                                Good understanding of legislation and planning policy
Excellent technical report writing
Desirable             Project Management experience (project, financial, personnel)
                                Technical specialism in appropriate area of expertise
                                Field Archaeology experience
                                Ability to undertake effective business development
Essential              Effective team working
                                Highly motivated
                                Ability to manage your own workload effectively
                                Full Driver’s Licence
