Freelance Project Assistant (around 3 days/month) needed for our highly successful community digital archiving project “Capturing the Past”. Two years fixed term contract with possible extension. Closing date Sunday 26 February. Fantastic role based in the Yorkshire Dales with access by arrangement to our charity’s office in Gargrave. To be effective it is expected that the successful applicant will be based in or near Craven District.

We are looking for a Project Assistant to organise, catalogue, digitise and upload historic material from selected collections that have already been identified by the Capturing the Past project. This role will also support the Project Leader, John Cuthbert, in supporting the volunteers, holding open day events and generally contributing to the development of the Capturing the Past project.

The Friends of the Dales office is in Gargrave. Office space is available there on Fridays and at weekends, and on other days by arrangement. Work may also be carried out at home or at community venues. To be effective, it is expected that the successful applicant will be based in or near Craven District.

Commencement of post: Friends of the Dales hope that the selected candidate will be available to start from April 2023.

Expenses: Necessary expenses, such as public transport or a mileage allowance, incurred in carrying out these duties will be reimbursed (subject to conditions).
