ARE YOU OUR NEW GEOMATICS SUPERVISOR?
You are an experienced archaeologist who has, or is looking to develop, geomatics skills. You already have a set of skills that complement geomatics, perhaps including some of the following:

  • Fieldwork
  • Report writing
  • Illustration
  • Survey
  • CAD
  • Team leadership
  • Database creation
  • Web development
  • Application development
Maybe you have used MapInfo, ArcGIS or QGIS before, but for the right candidate this isn’t essential. Training will be provided. You do however have an understanding of what GIS and geomatics are and where they can be applied in archaeology.

Responsibilities
As a Geomatics Supervisor, you will work on a variety of archaeological projects, as well as anticipating and responding to the day-to-day geomatics needs of the company. You will expect to be mostly office-based, but depending on your other skills could find yourself on field projects where you might be working away from home. Your work will be methodical and analytical. You take the initiative, and communicate effectively with team members. You will be excited to collaboratively develop new systems to meet changing business needs. You can work solo or within a team structure, perhaps leading a team yourself.
 
A full driving licence is essential.  Full membership of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA) is desirable.
