Wardell Armstrong is recruiting an archaeological geophysicist for our Bolton office based in Greater Manchester.
We are seeking an experienced geophysicist with appropriate experience, who is looking to advance their career working within the Greater Manchester archaeology team. Projects will comprise geophysical surveys of various sizes, but project work may also include assisting with other archaeological fieldwork projects, including surveys, archaeological evaluations and excavations as necessary.
Candidates should preferably have at least six months’ previous experience of archaeological fieldwork including undertaking archaeological geophysical surveys. Previous experience of using geophysics software, AutoCAD or GIS software would be advantageous for this post, although some training will be provided. A first degree in archaeology and/or equivalent geophysics qualification is required.
This is a permanent full-time position, subject to our standard 6 months probationary period. The successful candidates will be required to work at various locations across the North West, but some working further afield in the UK will also be required. Accommodation and a generous subsistence allowance will be provided for projects when working away from home and the company offices. Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and be able to provide their own transport to the company offices. Transport will be provided for site work, leaving from the company offices to site.
