Finds Manager
£26,614.00 – 31,974.20

Northern Archaeological Associates is the leading independent heritage and archaeology consultancy in the north of England and has a broad range of current excavation, geomatic, historic environment, and community projects.
 
NAA is seeking a suitably qualified enthusiastic Finds Managers to assist the Post-Excavation Manager with the management and coordination of the post-excavation, reporting and publication programme. We welcome applications from experienced and motivated individuals whose interest and expertise lies in delivering the highest standards of archaeological work to meet the needs of clients and archaeological curators. The successful applicant will be flexible, capable of maintaining a busy and varied workload, and able to work within our multi-disciplinary teams.
 
Reporting to and working closely with the Post-Excavation Manager, the post holder will coordinate aspects of NAA’s archaeological post-excavation, finds, archive and publication activity. Effective communication and collaborative working are key requirements of this role. The post holder will be required to manage and monitor other colleagues and external contributors undertaking project work and will be accountable for delivering projects to time and within budget.
 
The post holder will have proven experience of managing post-excavation elements of archaeological projects of different types and complexity. Experience of reporting and publications, knowledge of project management procedures, of health and safety in the workplace, and of relevant archaeological and historic environment legislation, policy and best practice will be required.
 
We welcome applications from candidates with a period specialism – in particular the Roman period – and/or a finds or environmental specialism.
 
The advertised posts will be based at the NAA offices in Barnard Castle and are for permanent appointments based on a 37.5-hour working week. Starting salary will be commensurate with the expertise and experience of the successful candidates and payment will be made monthly in arrears.
