The Wardell Armstrong Archaeology & Heritage team has provided expertise and professional services for over 25 years, supporting the team to be leaders in the field, with an incredibly diverse suite of specialisms on offer, including desk-based consultancy, building recording, non-intrusive works such as geophysical survey and landscape assessment, the full range of archaeological fieldwork services and a comprehensive and dedicated specialist post-excavation team.
Our team is based across 4 of Wardell Armstrong’s offices Bolton, Birmingham, Carlisle and Stoke. Our post-ex hub in Carlisle is home to our purpose-built facility, which provide finds analysis, palaeoenvironmental processing and analysis, post-excavation analysis, publication and outreach.
Our Archaeology team is highly successful and we are growing! This means we need to expand our team, and we are interested in hearing from passionate and experienced archaeologists who can become part of this growth and development.
We require field archaeologists – specialists in their field, who are interested in working both close to their base, and further afield.

At junior grades, applicants should ideally have at least three month’s commercial experience.

A successful candidate will require:
• Knowledge of British archaeology.
• Knowledge and understanding of post-excavation procedures and practices.
• A degree in archaeology or a related discipline.
• A full clean driving licence.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Awareness of health and safety legislation and its application to archaeological projects
