Archaeological Project Officer
The University of Salford – Salford Archaeology.
Salford Archaeology is part of the Centre for Applied Archaeology, an enterprise Centre within the School of Science, Engineering and Environments at the University of Salford. We are currently looking to recruit two new members to our team.
The post holder will be based either on site or in the office depending upon each project's requirements. While much of our work is within Greater Manchester we do operate regionally and nationally, Travel expenses are paid based on the university being the place of work. Should overnight stays be required accommodation and a subsistence allowance will be provided.
Archaeological Project Officer. £24,461 - £27,511 pa. Fixed Term- 24 months: Ref:1872937
The Project Officer will be dedicated to the delivery of individual commercial archaeological projects as directed by the Project Managers. The focus will be to manage fieldwork taking a lead from start to completion. The post holder is expected to be capable of working independently to assist the Project Managers in their delivery of multiple projects.
They will direct the workload of Supervisors and Archaeologists and should the project require it, volunteer members of the public. They will need to liaise with clients, archaeological officers and consultants and attend project meetings.
The Project Officer may be required to undertake engagement-based duties such as school visits, skills-based workshops and public lectures.

Archaeological Supervisor, £21,236 - £23,754 pa. Fixed Term- 24 months: Ref:1872938
The purpose of the role will be to provide archaeological support to the various projects conducted by Salford Archaeology This may include the undertaking of the following: archaeological excavation and associated recording, community engagement (both onsite and undertaking skills-based workshops) and assisting in the production of archaeological desk-based assessments, building surveys and post excavation technical reports.
You will be under the daily supervision of the Project Officers and Project Managers from Salford Archaeology and support them in the delivery of the various projects to completion.
