Archaeological Supervisors and Field Archaeologists
3 months fixed term with high probability of extension

Due to continued growth across our business and a range of large projects ahead, CFA is looking to appoint Archaeological Supervisors and Field Archaeologists to enhance our core teams on projects throughout the UK. Archaeological Supervisors (AS1220) - starting at £23,475
 
We are looking to appoint Archaeological Supervisors. You may be required regularly to work away from your office location. CFA provides transport to site and, if working away, overnight accommodation and subsistence will also be provided. A good knowledge of British archaeology is desirable, and you will be able to demonstrate a range of skills relevant to working in commercial field archaeology. You should be motivated and an effective team-worker, maintaining good professional relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
 
Successful criteria include:
  • Relevant degree level education or significant practical experience
  • Flexible approach to deployment and willingness to travel and work away
  • Membership of the CIfA preferred and a current CSCS Card desirable.
  • Experience of supervising archaeological projects and managing assistants
  • A good positive attitude and effective team-worker / communicator
  • Experience of archaeological supervision of machine excavation
  • Willingness to learn a range of office-based and fieldwork tasks, with ambition to progress into more senior roles
  • Motivated with good organisational skills
  • Full driving licence essential
  • Microsoft Office skills
  
Field Archaeologists (FA1220) – starting at £20,675
 
We are looking to appoint Field Archaeologists who can work effectively and reliably as part of a team, both in the office and in the field. You must be available to work away on field projects and be able to carry out manual work in outdoor environments in all weather. We look to train and develop all staff with the aim to provide career development.
 
Successful criteria include:
  • Relevant degree level education or practical experience in UK practice desirable
  • Flexible approach to deployment and willingness to travel and work away
  • Membership of the CIfA preferred and a current CSCS Card desirable
  • A good positive attitude and effective team-worker / communicator
  • Willingness to learn a range of office-based and fieldwork tasks, with ambition to progress into more senior roles
  • Motivated with good organisational skills
  • Full driving licence preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills
