CFA is looking to appoint maternity cover for a Geomatics & Graphics Officer to join our core teams in either our Leeds or Musselburgh offices. The post will be for a minimum of 9 months, with the possibility to be made permanent.

CFA has comprehensive COVID-19 safe system of work procedures in place and are following all current Government and Industry guidance on establishing and maintaining a safe working environment. The successful candidate will be expected to work from home initially until safety measures can reasonably be adjusted following government guidance. All equipment, software and network access will be provided.
You will have a qualification in archaeology and/or geomatics / graphics with demonstrable experience in archaeological illustration. You will be required to work as part of a friendly office locally but also as a member of our Geomatics & Graphics team working UK wide, sharing projects according to scheduling needs. You will be able to maintain a high level of accuracy and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines originating from any of our UK branches.
Applicants would ideally have solid experience in the following: GIS mapping software (preferably ArcMap), AutoCAD, Adobe llustrator/Photoshop/InDesign. Additional skills in Photoscan or artefact and pottery illustration would be an advantage but not essential. You should have a good knowledge of, or experience in, archaeological fieldwork procedures.

Let us know if you have any other relevant experience. For example, Photogrammetry, photography, historic building surveying, use of total station and/or GPS/GNSS and site planning.
- Excellent knowledge of GPS survey data with processing experience
- Familiarity with Trimble Business Centre preferable but not essential.
- Good working knowledge of field drawings and digitising techniques
- Relevant degree level education or practical experience in UK practice desirable
- Meticulous with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A good positive attitude and effective team-worker / communicator
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good written English skills
