EXPERTS IN EGYPTOLOGY, CLASSICAL AND NEAR EASTERN ART NEEDED

As a growing auction house, here at Pax Romana we want to maintain the highest possible ethical standards in the antiquities trade by following vigorous procedures to determine authenticity and provenance. As part of this process, we’re looking to expand our vetting team with some part-time experts.
More about us, Pax Romana is a London based gallery and auctioneers of Ancient Art and numismatics. We are members of the BNTA (British Numismatic Trading Association) and ARL (Art Loss Register). We specialize in Classical Art but also work with art from all over Ancient Asia, Egypt and Europe. Our current vetting procedures include expert examinations and collaborations with laboratories for scientific testing.
The role you’ll play as a part time expert in our vetting team will include the physical examination of antiquities for authenticity verification. These examinations will take place in our central London gallery, and will be a core part of the role alongside cataloging those artefacts.
The remuneration is flexible based on experience. We will cover all travel expenses if you are based outside London and will also agree on a rate for the vetting and descriptions.
At the moment, we are looking to hire experts in the fields of Egyptology, Classical Antiquities and Near Eastern Art.
