The PCA London, Newark, Durham, Cambridge & Warwick offices are recruiting for Site Assistants to work on a wide range of fieldwork projects across various locations.
Site Assistant role:
Applicants should ideally have at least 3 months of field work experience (although trainee roles will be considered) with the candidate having the ability to excavate and record archaeological remains on site effectively and efficiently as part of a team. Experience of single context planning would be very useful.
The posts will be based at either our London, Newark, Durham, Warwick and Cambridge premises. Please state on your application which office you are applying to.
· Degree level education in Archaeology or a relevant subject
· Good communication skills and plenty of enthusiasm
· Experience and understanding of UK commercial archaeological projects
· Understanding and appreciation of health and safety
· Eligibility to work in the UK
· CSCS cards
· Full and clean UK driving licence
· First Aid
We are expecting to require fieldstaff for an immediate start, and to offer an initial full-time contract of 3 months. A probationary period of 3 months applies to all new staff. We will seek to extend contracts for staff beyond initial contracts if the work is available. Accommodation and subsistance is provided on away work although the current roles offered are generally home based.
